Bulk import fails with 500 error
#48213 · via email · Brightlane (Growth plan)
Dana K. · Ops Manager, Brightlane · Tue 9:02 AM
Our bulk import keeps failing with “Error 500”. Smaller files work. We have a board report due Friday and need this data in.

Thanks Dana, I’m on it. Could you send one file that fails and roughly when you tried it? I’ll keep you posted today.
Luis M. · Tier 2 · internal note · 10:41 AM
Reproduced on staging. 8,000 rows imports fine, 12,000 rows fails every time. Not a file format issue. Escalating to Tier 3.
Sofía G. · Tier 3 · internal note · 11:58 AM
Root cause: the import worker times out at 30s on files above ~10k rows. Filed for engineering with repro steps, logs and affected accounts.
Sofía G. · Tier 3 · 12:10 PM
Found it, Dana. Large files hit a time limit on our side. Engineering has the fix queued. Until then, splitting the file into 5,000-row parts works. I’ve attached them already split, ready for your report.

Dana rated this “Great”
“Fastest fix we’ve had. The split files saved our Friday.”
01 · Triage
Tier 1 replies fast and collects what the next tier needs.
02 · Reproduce
Tier 2 proves the bug and rules out user error.
03 · Root cause
Tier 3 finds why and hands engineering a ready-to-fix report.
04 · Unblock
The customer gets a workaround the same day, not a “we’re looking into it”.

| Spanish-speaking customers wait for whoever can answer. | Bilingual agents answer in English and Spanish. | Customers across the Americas |
| Ticket volume swings, but headcount can’t. | Add or reduce agents and coverage hours month to month. | Pay for what you need |
